Susan
Belliel is certainly no ‘stranger’ when it comes
to performing. She began learning classical violin at age 7.
A creative young interest
over the last 14 years in grassroots music helped in developing
her own voice by studying the fiddle styling of Bill Monroe,
Alison Krause and Mark O’Conner. As a graduate of Calvin
College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a music education and
a performance degree, she has been able to share her music by
teaching private violin lessons to young children for over 16
years.
An active member of the prestigious Grand Rapids Symphony
for over 12 years, Susan has enjoyed the opportunity to have
performed
with the likes of Vince Gill, LeAnn Rimes, Regis Philbin, John
Tesh, Josh Groban and Wayne Newton. As a fiddle player with many
of the region’s top country bands, she has shared the stage
with many of today’s National Country artists including
Daryl Singletary, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert,
Keith Anderson, Ray Scott, and the bluegrass band Third Tyme
Out.
Featured as a solo recording Artist, Susan has aligned herself
with some of the region’s most revered showcase events
including the annual Christmas production of Hark Up! for Fair
Haven Ministries.
Today, Susan balances raising a family with remaining a mainstay
on the Midwest music scene. Her continued musical diversity
finds her performing with the Grand Rapids Symphony, tearing
it up with the country band Branded while continuing to teach
private violin lessons for young children out of her home studio.
Her passion for grassroots music and unique playing style has
led her to be featured as a welcome and prominent utility player
with Rogue River!
