Jim's
music career has followed a long and winding road with many
interesting stops
along the way. With more than 20 years of playing and teaching
experience, he has developed a reputation as a musical chameleon.
His guitar work has been featured in a wide variety of settings
from Pop Rock and Big Band Jazz to being a regular mainstay on
the West Michigan gospel circuit.
The legendary comedian Bob Hope, Hootie and The Blowfish, roots
rocker John Hiatt and Gospel singer Sandi Patti are just a few
of the artists Jim has shared a stage with over the years. His
musical versatility as a member of many of the region's theatre
productions have included the likes of the historic Red Barn
Playhouse and Kalamazoo's Civic Theatre to the annual Christmas
production of Hark Up! at Fair Haven Ministries.
While musically enriched by these many experiences in an ensemble
setting, Jim has increasingly focused his attention on developing
as a solo artist. Performing on both acoustic and classical guitar,
Jim's eclectic repertoire has grown to include everything from
Bach to the Beatles, Blues and Ragtime to exciting instrumental
arrangements of numerous Pop, Jazz and Bluegrass standards. Always
a 'true gentleman' on the gig, Jim continues to warm the hearts
of everyone he meets.
